The Tornado Isle
Geography
The Tornado Isle is a largely barren wasteland, so named because of the almost constant tornado activity, which is caused by strange atmospheric pressures. Because of this, there is very little life on the island, aside from a few plants that are especially determined to fight against the storm.
Localized Phenomena
One might say that the constant and entirely localized tornados that have destroyed any structure that was ever on the island, and yet which never causes any issues to any nearby islands, may be considered a localized phenomena.
History
The Tornado Isle has never been a place where people could settle - because of the tornados. This does not, however, mean that it has no history.
For hundreds of years, the Tornado Isle has been a place of ritualistic combat for many cultures - the idea is that, because the tornados make it dangerous for many people to be on the island, there can be no spectators to the battles, and so those who have to settle their differences through combat can do so without fear of interruption. It also makes these moments more personal.
There are also monsters on the Isle of course, large flying creatures that have learned to ride the winds of the tornados and have therefore become all the more dangerous for it. This has led to a history of many adventurers coming to the island to prove their strength by hunting these creatures in an extremely difficult environment.
In the present day, travel to the island without proper documentation is technically illegal, though this is very difficult to actually enforce.
