Personnel Exoskeletal Combat Suit, PECS gear

The cost to produce one suit of TEC suit is approximately 3 million renown. Which renders it impossible to maintain a large armed body and fully clad them in armoured suits. Hence, an alternative was needed, which lead to the development of the Personnel exoskeletal combat suit. A cheaper and more mass-productible version of the regular powered armor. Lighter and less protected but still far above what flesh and blood alone can provide. Being made of the same polycomposite platings of regular TECS, PEC suits are highly resistant to small arms fire and wield lighter normal hybrid rifles rather than the bulkier and heavier TEC rifle. Powered by one single powercell instead of 2, the exoskeletal augment have lesser operational time than their tactical counterparts but have the advantage of not needed implants to use at full potential, needing only an electro-hood to control it. Rendering it possible to rapidely equip units with this type of armor.
The structure of the Personnel Exoskeletal Combat Suit -inner suit, called the soft layer, is home to most of the life support system present on PECS gear, it includes things such as water and waste processing/recycling, life support systems, etc. This thin layers is composed of the same highly resistant polywoven fibers that make up the intersuit on TEC gear albeit at a lesser level due to it lacking the optional core hard plates mounted on the TEC intersuit.
-Outer suit. Also known as the Exo layer, is where the exoskeleton and syntethic muscle bundles link up with the inner suit and provide physical enhancement to the pilot.This layer also includes a series of polylaminated composite plating, fully enclosing the suit and making it proof against radioactive, chemical and biological threats. The armour on those is much thinner than that on the TEC, being only 20-30 mm instead of the 100 mm, and the exo gear does not mount a Asclepius module. Rendering the pilot less survivable to injury.
With it being much lighter, wearing a set of PEC gear can be done by the pilot himself with assistance from his fellow rather than needing a dedicated team for the purpose of donning and doffing the armor. rendering it a much less burdening option on logistics. However, its lower autonomy and lesser protection prevents it from being suited for assault missions, instead it is mostly used as outriders and flanking units, along with providing support behind the main armoured thrust and consolidating gained ground.  Within the Brotherhood of The Crimson Dawn,PEC suits equip all units not issued the more advanced TEC suit, making up the bulk of the men inside the scarlet host. While the Tactical Enhanced Combat Suits equipped troops are akin to the knights in shining armour of the 24th century,making up the spearhead of any operations, the vast legions of exo troops compose the main force, advancing behind the cleared path and securing the front lines.
