The gods hoped to create a realm that was rich in all aspects: ideas, minerals, landscapes, and life.

To protect their experiment, they bordered the Realm with near impassable boundaries:

The Bynock Sea: Dangerous storms and rough weather prohibits a majority of vessels from attempting to go beyond the map's edge.
The Fangs of Rimecrest: Extreme icy mountains with temperatures that can freeze unprotected living creatures in hours.
The Sunken Mountains of Rime: Cold waters continue to consume aspects of Rimecrest, some brave sailors have reported a switch in sea current leading to a ridge consuming anything that gets to close.
Soul's Gate Desert: A barren sandy wasteland that has claimed many lives from explorers venturing too far east.
The Serpentine Jungle Rivers: Difficult to navigate the maze of waterways. The longer someone stays there, the more likely a creature is to make them a meal. Rare poisons and other toxic substances have been sourced from the region.
The Misty Forest: The most common path to explore beyond Strateny has been through these forests. However, although many have returned, none have found civilization beyond the mapped areas.

Other notable landscapes of Strateny

The Kyrv Jool (Cut River) brings freshwater from The Misty Forest and the Bladeridge Mountains to Hiltforge Lake.
The Seas of the South supply saltwater to the Hiltforge Lake, creating a unique and plentiful lake of part salt and part freshwater.
The Volcanic eruptions of The Crimson Mountains created a dark and bizarre environment in the southwest. It also opened a portal to The Underdark, which extends long prior to The Realm of Strateny. Creatures and entities have been cutting through pockets for thousands of years.
In the Bladeridge Mountains lives the Yggdrasil portals, deep within the mountains and protected by Dwarven Clans sworn to control the access points to the other realms.
