Alchemy For Beginers

Alchemy is split into two big categories taking the element and using the element. The taking or extracting process can take from a day to a year depending on the purity, strength and extracting method of the element. There are different ways of using the extracted elements. Based on how you plan to use the element(s) and the complexity of the progress it will determine the time and successes rate of completing it. The higher the purity the higher the successes rate. The higher the elements strength the more time it will take to process and the stronger the end result will be.

Purity VS Strength

Purity

There are 5 Levels of purity 5 being the weakest and 1 being the strongest. How much of your extraction is the element and how much is waste product or water, determines what level of purity it is. Purity can be seen easily the waste product turns into a sludge at the bottom, and the water is seen at the top. You can Purify the element at the cost of its strength.

Many first time students only can produce sludge and water with a hint of the element with in; Even I can only extract level 3 purity. -Grand Master Torin

Strength

The strength of the elements relies solely on what you are extracting the element from. There was an experimental way of strengthening am element by having someone of the same element circulate the extraction with there own recharging it. This practice was banned due to the shear danger of it, at any point it may overload causing a huge explosion.

There was a case of a Element overload when i was still in my second year. the explosion took out all of the south wing. Leaving only the shadows of the people that where there. -Grand Master Torin

Schools of Alchemy

There are 5 Schools of Alchemy Extraction, Enchantment, Invention, Defenestration, and Replenish. The schools work together to better their understanding of the elements'. Most alchemists will specialize in one school but it isn't frowned upon to have two.

Extraction

the process of discovering, extracting, purifying and storing elements.

Enchantment

the process of adding an element to an item to enhance or diminish. example diminish the chance of it breaking or enhancing its cutting skill

Invention

the process of creating new items with elements that further the understanding and or usability of the elements. example the cooking is done on cooking stones powered by the fire element

Defenestration

the process of making brews for weapons

Replenish

process of using the elements to heal, or bring something back

Alchemist Ranking

When becoming an alchemist there is a ranking system in place. this system shows' your years of experience and your level of alchemy skill. There has been extraordinary people that have skipped different ranks, to do this you must take a ranking test. A mark will appear on your identification when you take this test Black means you have failed. Silver means you have skipped the apprentice rank, gold means you have skipped the graduate rank, and purple means you have skipped both the apprentice & graduate rank. There is no way to skip the master or grand master rank.

Apprentice

After you graduate from The Lunaris Accreton Academy (L.A.A.) you can become an apprentice of a master. The apprentice takes four years. After your first year you will get a silver star to add to your alchemist identification

Graduate

To move on the graduate level you must pass the alchemist exam which is held twice a year at L.A.A. once you become a graduate you will get a new identification card. For every year after you get a silver line every 5 years you can take the graduate exam again and get a gold Line.

Master

After 2 gold lines you can take the masters exam this allows you to take an apprentice and have more research opportunities. The country that you work for my have specials privilege's for those if this rank. When you get your Identification card it will look vary different. You can rise the ranks of master though market instead of years

Grand Master

Once you reach 50,000 maret you will receive the identification of grand master. Your maret points will reset and you will get A silver potion ever year and A gold every 5

Thera

Every 50 years a Thera is chosen from the grand Masters. there role is to keep all the alchemist in line. Even kings and queens show there respect to the Thera. it is a great houner for that country to produce a Thera.

Rules of Practice

When practicing alchemy you must adhere to the guidelines set in place by the law those that don't comply are striped of there privileges' as an alchemist.

Acceptable Practices

Taking elemental properties from plants, and unalive monsters and animals. people can donate part of there elemental properties for money. This is experimental and there is a risk of death. backfire, overload, striping can occur which can be detrimental to all those involved. The benefits of this progress is the strength of the element is 40-50% higher than other methods. The time to produce is lower and the purity is much higher, than of other methods as well. With this warning have been put in place and all involved sign a magic contract. All staff apart of this procedure must at least a graduate with one gold line and all safety measures must be in place. Those who do not comply can have there whole laudatory taken and there tittle striped.
