The Realm of Ademlos

Ademlos, whose name means Breathless in Orcish, is a medieval fantasy world based upon the mythical Norse realm of Andlang: the heavenly plane resting between Asgard and Vithblainn, where the souls of mortals are sent after the events of Ragnarok, The Twilight War. With the Gods, Giants, and Dragons left without homes to return to after the conclusion of this war, each faction laid claim to the realm of Andlang, and established their own societies there, breathing new life into the souls of mortals overflowing out of Hel. A Cold War developed between the immortal races, culminating in the Giants using their great magic to conjure a magnificent guardian into the realm from beyond the primordial gap, aiming to set this warrior upon the Gods and put a final end to their struggle. However, the ultimate weapon they unleashed turned against its masters, and the Giants were erased from the face of the realm, throwing the balance of power into chaos. The Gods endeavored to defeat the creature, though it required nearly the full extent of their immense powers just to keep it at bay and prevent the full destruction of the realm. Never giving in, the Gods continued to struggle against the all-powerful being in vain, as the Dragons pragmatically hid away in their caves, unwilling to face the creature without a plan. Thus, the realm was suddenly left without its immortal masters to rule directly over the races of mortals, and a new era of history began. Now, thousands of years after the Giants were destroyed, the Gods and Dragons continue to wage their war against the great beast, unbeknownst to the mortals thriving across the realm. The history of these mortal civilizations has been marked by recurring wars and racial tensions, but new technology and improved standards of living have begun to bring with them an unprecedented level of peace and prosperity for mortals. However, the defenses of the Gods and Dragons are now finally beginning to wan, as the ancient weapon of the Giants has seemingly only gained in strength. The war which has raged between these immortal powers for millennia will soon become apparent to the races of mortals. It will fall to the duty of the greatest mortal warriors to rise up and fight off this beast which not even the Gods may defeat. It is the only hope that the mortals of Ademlos will have for their survival.
