Wolf Fang Fists - Prisma Variant

Nature: Aggressive Origin: Kun'lao (variant) Flourish: Brutal

A deadly and fearsome fighting style developed for street fighting, originating from The Howling but adopted by factions in Prisma such as the Dog Brothers. It specializes in no-holds-barred battles, using cheap shots, and ground fighting. Wolf Fang Fists makes use of numerous gripping, ripping, and tearing techniques, including using Qi techniques to create Qi claws capable of tearing bodies apart. The style involves fast legwork, running on fours to maintain low and dash towards the opponent if necessary, before using combos of kicks, sweeps, and scissor-style takedowns to throw the opponent off their feet.

Wolf Fang Fists is not a martial art developed for honorable combat. It was developed for pack wars in The Howling, and then further developed in Prisma for street fights. The style is vicious and nature leads to serious injury. As such, its Flourish is Brutal.

Key Concepts

There are a few key elements to those who practice Wolf Fang Fists. These elements are central to the martial art's key concept: Brutal and ferocious combat meant to be used in life or death situations.

  • Gripping Strength: Similar to Liao Style, Wolf Fang Fists relies a great amount on gripping techniques using claw strikes. Unlike Liao Style, which utilizes grips to get good strikes on opponents, Wolf Fang Fists practicioners will then use their grip to tear at their opponent's flesh or situate them for a take down. Using Qi abilities it is not uncommon for Wolf Fang Fists users to transform their gripping claw strikes into slashing claw strikes as well.
  • Ground Combat: Wolf Fang Fists has some of the strongest ground game in Kun'lao martial arts. Because it was developed for street fighting, it teaches its opponents how to properly fall without hurting themselves and defend their body if they're being attacks while on the ground. At the same time, it teaches its adherents to do anything they can to take their opponent off their feet so they can mount them and finish them off.
  • Brutality: Wolf Fang Fists relies on brutality more than most of Heavenly City styles. At least North Star Cobra can hide its torturous nature behind pressure point strikes. Wolf Fang Fists users will do anything it takes to win, whether it be biting, low blows, or cheap tricks to do so.

Weapons

Wolf Fang Fists users are taught to do anything it takes to come out of battle alive. It goes to say that they are quite well versed in the use of weaponry.

  • Sabre: Ancient sabres are often used by Dog Brothers, passed down by generation to generation. They are often chipped away at and rusted. Despite this, Dog Brothers know how to use such weapons with ease.
  • Three-Section Cudgel: The three-section staff is often used thanks to its ability to sweep and pull opponent's off their feet, and its ability to be well hidden on the user when not in use.
  • Brass Knuckles: A well known street fighting weapon. User thanks to its practicality and efficiently in severely hurting one's enemies. Can be easily hidden or discarded as well. Sometimes substituted for a knife or beer glass.
