Erlang

Erlang is a popular sport played all around Prisma, although it is primarily played in Kun'lao. It originates from the 1st Era, primarily being developed as a game by the Shambali Monastery. It was made by a couple of senior monks as a game to help youths in training develop their Qi. It was intended as a sort of incentive for the often young trainees at the Monastery to develop their physical and spiritual capabilities.

The game is rather simple, and on an adult level, it can actually get quite violent. Although there are less violent means to play the game, the rules often involve physical contact and user of Qi techniques. The game is played in a court, with two hoops set up standing on a playform on both sides of the court. Each team is assigned a hoop. There is a ball in play, with the goal of the game being to throw or slam the ball through their opponent's hoop.

Although it originated from the Shambali Monastery, play of the game began to spread throughout Kun'lao as Shambali monks went out on their pilgrimages. Eventually, local clubs and even professional sports teams began to develop, not just in Kun'lao, but around Prisma. The game has since evolved into a massive industry, with various different local teams and sports leagues developing their own rule sets.
