Most of the continents south of The Shattered Isles was destroyed by the cataclysm.
The sun went dark as it was shattered by unknown forces, the shards fell to the ground and caused much destruction and famine.

Summary

The cataclysm Before the cataclysm the world is rumored to have been a place in sunlight much brighter then the dim flow that's seen now. There were plants like the ones seen in Jayan Park in Doskvol, all over the world. No-one knows what the cataclysm actually was but the sun shattered and shards of it fell to the ground, as they did the Supernatural realm opened in places.

Cultural Reception

Each culture has a different telling of the cataclysm. The dagger Island tribes say they were saved from the southern continents completely destroyed, they are very different in appearance. Akoros was mainly spared destruction was this due to The Immortal Emperor power or is it more sinister. Irivians live on a volcanic active continent that is barely habitable but they coped differently for Akoros for hundreds of years and resent being forced to bow to the Imperium. Severosi adapted by secret rituals to live with the Ghost field the breed horses and hunt dangerous rouge spirits. Skovlander was a kingdom of magic, they were spared most of the destruction but had to find a way to survive so they had a alliance with The Immortal Emperor until they revolted in the unity war.
