The plague stricken Tetochia

The islands of Tetochia are trying to restablish themselves while the stahl threat still roams it. The stahl besides leaving physical dangers also left a invisble one, an illness spreads across the two islands, simply called the red plague. A level 20 wizard on the island tried to find a cure before the entire island would perish of famine, to get more time he teached other wizards across the islands how to ressurect the dead, the dead could maintain farmland while he sought out a cure. but he could not find it in time and was forced by the populace to become a lich so he could further his research post mortem.
the players will find the islands on it's worst, the villages are more filled with undead than living people, trade has completely halted and every village turned more communal, caring for each other to survive the next winter.
if the players make their way to Ibron fortress where the lich named Othes resides he would ask the party to help him lift the curse. He thinks The red plague is like the red dragon sickness, so he wants the party to seek out a red dragon and bring his bones, scales and blood. The closest red dragon would be in the Thrusin mountain ridge.
When returning to Othes a variety of things could've happen, if taken too long the plague could've spread massivly and the islands are now truly on deathsdoor. maybe the players peaked interest in a group crusaders, now hellbent on exterminating these islands. but if they come on time and bring the ingredients, they can help Othes in the ongoing weeks to create the antidote. with the antidote the islands can be saved.
