Composition

Manpower

150 man plus 5 healers.(type of healers depend on the nation, Etheria uses magic based healers while Tulvia used doctors for example)

Equipment

tower shields, lances and short swords.
the Foot company wears helmets, greaves and a padded chest plate to stay light and mobile, the tower shield is supposed to be the defence, not the armour.
The medical units vary on equipment, magic based ones often have spell components and healing herbs on them while physical based ones take entire aid kits with them.

Weaponry

Spears and shortswords, the spears point beyond the shield and keep the enemy away from the unit but when the enemy somehow gets around or past the spears they can be dropped and the shortsword is equipped to get into often bloody melee combat.

Structure

Every company has one captain that commands the company, he has no real autonomy and just tells the commands of the general of the army.

Tactics

The foot company uses two tactics:

• Rectangle position
• wall position
  

In a rectangle position the units form a rectangle, with the tower shields covers all sides and the heads of the units, the spears poke outside all sides. This is very efficient against cavalry charges and other charges in general, often positioned across the battlefield like mines, making it harder to move across the field.

In a wall position the units form a wall, often more than one to force the enemy into a choke hold. The shields are held slightly diagonal so the soldier is protected from both front and air attacks, the spears stick out to make sure no soldier can get close to the shields.

Training

Foot companies don't need much training, they need to learn to quickly react to command from the captain and know basic use in shortswords, this makes infantry companies very cheap to train and to maintain.
