The Truth

The Truth is the common language of the Ninth World, spoken by most people who live there. In the Plains of Kataru, The Truth is spoken in three dialects: Krellit, Hahr, and Sook. Outsiders have difficulty understanding Hahr. Most plainsmen can understand each dialect, but each has its own character:

• Krellit lilts melodically, combines words together when one ends and the next begins on a vowel, and uses whistles for accent and emphasis.
• Hahr is harsh, short and choppy, gutteral. Speakers of Hahr don't use the words yes or no, instead using grunts with head nods or shakes.
• Sook uses allusions to trade when unnecessary and is always accompanied by wide and expansive gestures and long vowel sounds.
