Saltfield

Saltfield is a walled and gated community in the center of the Plains of Kataru. Visitors are rarely allowed in, and the large synth walls hum with a powerful vibration that has thus far made raiders unwilling to attempt an assault. There is a weekly open air market that covers roughly a hundred acres outside of the gate - traders from all over the plains come to offer food, shins, iron, and synth in exchange for the one commodity that Saltfield produces: salt.
No one know the method of production for sure, but it is rumored that the salt is produced by a fungus that grows only within the ancient walls protecting the village. Merchants hawking salt only smile and change the topic if visitors bring it up.
