Rowboat
They don't go very far, but far enough up rivers and lakes, at least.
Purpose
These small boats are used by merchants who only need to send goods to people on the same island, as they aren't meant for deep sea sailing.Sometimes, smaller leisure rowboats are commissioned for use in public events such as during the Mariner's Ball prelude if the host and guests wish for a boat outing.
The third most common use for larger rowboats is as lifeboats attached to larger ships in the event of a sinking.
Propulsion
The rower uses a pair of oars to move the rowboat. Larger rowboats may have two rowers at once.
While there are attempts to add steam engines, they generally ended up causing boats to tip forward if they weren't loaded fully beforehand.

Weapons & Armament
Doesn't have any weapons by itself.
Passengers may attempt to defend themselves, but the low walls and relatively unstable surface makes it a tricky proposition. The most likely result is falling overboard.

Armor and defense
Doesn't have much in the way of bulwarks either.
In theory, the rowboat's small size and light weight is its best defense, but it also depends on the stamina of its rowers.
The variants used as lifeboats have iron ribs to reduce the risk of shattering in rough conditions.

Communication Tools & Systems
Like other boats, navigators carry megaphones to make sure their voices can be heard over long distances.
Some rowboat users carry lanterns and flash them according to Morse code.

Sensors
The occasional rowboat user may add a compass to their seat, though anything more advanced than a magnet is generally considered a waste of time.
