Mariner's Ball
History
Started shortly after the Pits were colonized, the Mariner's ball is a seasonal tradition that serves as a social gathering and debutante ball at the same time.
Components and tools
All attendants have to wear their finest clothes, for women they range from conventional ball gowns to captain's jackets and full skirts. Men are expected to wear dress coats. None of the attendants should dress shabbily.
If it so happens a guest is unable to dress for the ball, they can borrow similarly sized clothes from friends or rent them from one of the many tailors in the Pits.
Observance
Mariner's Balls are held at least four times a year. In prosperous years this can even extend to at least once a month. The balls usually take place on weekends when no intense raids and pillages are scheduled.
