The Petals of the Planar Ridge

The world of The Ridge takes place within a universe resembling the shape of that of a traditional Water Lily in which 18 parallel, oval-shaped planes, each in direct thematic opposition to one another representing the "9 heavens" and the "9 hells", all intersect within one concentrated point denoted as "The Planar Ridge". These planes are said to have stemmed directly from 18 core personality traits which are natively contained within all creatures capable of rational thought, although some controversial scholars would argue the inverse, that these aforementioned traits stem from the 18 planes themselves.
