Ghost

Basic Information

Anatomy

Anatomy & morphology of a ghost depend on the species they used to be before turning into a ghost. All ghosts share a misty kind of "tail" though that usually replaces their legs or the lower half of their bodies in general. Ghosts are difficult to see from an anatomic standpoint, considering that even their state as physical beings is highly disputed and, as if that wasn't problematic enough already, they can shift to whatever form they want. It is unclear whether or not this is only an illusion casted by the ghost or if their anatomy is actually affected by this.

Biological Traits

An extremely diverse "species", traits can include almost anything, as only very few things - their ability to transform themselves and to phase through anything they want to at will, while still being able to physically interact with the rest of the world, as well as their immortality or inability to die in general and their "tail" - can be found universally throughout all ghosts.

Growth Rate & Stages

Ghosts don't really change throughout their existance except if they want to. They don't actually grow older but remain in the same stage they were when becoming a ghost.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Even though they don't need to eat, ghosts are still able to do so. Their primary food source is usually the same they had before.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Ghosts do not typically create or live in a social structure of their own, but rather join the social structure of a civilization they are part of.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Ghosts can be found all across The Other World, even though they are extremely rare.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Ghosts often keep their former names, but some decide to change theirs or use a nickname. This is often to accommodate or express their ghostness. As most things about ghosts though, this concept / behavior is not universal either.

Major Organizations

As they don't really live together as one species but instead live together with other species, there are next to no major ghost-organizations.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Most ghosts keep the cultures from before turning into ghosts. Therefore, no "Ghost culture" really exists.

History

No one quite knows when, why or because of what ghosts first came or still come into being. Their origins are mysterious and unbeknownst to both the ghosts themselves and to other species. They are, however, one of few species that can, at least theoretically, exist in most every world, dimension, realm, universe, etc. of The Other World, as the only requirement for ghosts seems to be the existence of life. Any being can in theory become a ghost, though the circumstances, requirements, etc. of this are unknown. Dying seems to be a common reason for someone to turn from their old form into a ghost, but neither have all ghosts died before turning into one nor have all who died become ghosts (far from it, actually, as ghosts are inredibly rare). It therefore remains a mystery, how, why and under which or due to which circumstances a being turns into a ghost.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Many ghosts consider themselves to still be part of their original species as well (or exclusively). Therefore, the line between ghosts and other species is rather blurry and interspecies relations are quite complicated.
Lifespan
Immortal
Average Physique
The only thing that could be listed as "Average Physique" for a ghost would be the misty tail, which replaces the lower half of a ghost's body, though, because of their ability to shift into any shape they want, the tail can easily vanish in favor of something else.
