The Hall of Truth

Among all the royalties on the Oryuh Archipelago, one of the most ancient ones and most respectable ones is certainly the Kia Dynasty.

The Kia Dynasty

They have been ruling for century, always trusted, always respected. And it is said they never lost a battle, nor their citizen’s love. They rule justly and with care for their people and the Kia islands are one of the most famous islands of the Archipelago, where a lot of people want to live. Their power descends from mother to daughter, so that the tradition of the Keeper of Truth Remain. Because even more than being the Sovereign of the Kia islands, the Queens of Kia are Keeper of the Truth of the Lands. And that can only happen because their power comes from the Hall of Truth.

The Hall of Truth

Nobody truly knows where the Hall of Truth comes from. For some, it has always been there. For others, it is a gift from the Gods. There is no truth to that, in a most ironic way, nobody can truly know. The Queens, and their husbands, live in a palace centered around the one room: the Hall of Truth. It is the room in which their throne is, visible to everyone. It is a room protected by ancient Magic in which it is impossible to tell a lie. The queens that sit and reign there are called Keeper of the Truth. At their coronation, they make the vow to be truthful to their role and their people and to not lie inside or outside the palace. And after becoming queen, they can’t ever tell a lie. This strange but very useful power is the reason the Queens of Kia are trusted so. It is also the reasons the Kia Dynasty rules over several islands, a rarity in the archipelago. They can’t lie, so they are trusted. Some of their enemies, though they have very few of them, say they have learned to tell lies by telling the truth, but most people disagree.
