55th Cavalry "King Breakers"

The 55th Cavalary, also known as the "King Breakers" are members of the Chthonic Movement. Made from the survivors of the 54th Cavalary, this cavalary unit are revered for their fearlessness, charging headlong into combat and immobilisng Siegebreakers, slaughtering infantry and rallying troops with their thundering hooves.

Composition

Manpower

The 55th Cavalry is apart of the 55th Regiment and so they are of course accompanied by thousands of other people. Inside of the King Breakers however there are

12,000 Cavalary

8,000 auxillery Cavalary

2,000 Raiders

Equipment

The King Breakers, being the unit they are, have access to the majority of Chthonic's equipment. For this however, dependent on the role comes with different equipment. Each member is given a gas mask in order to survive chemical attacks. Their horses are also given one. Most as well come with a self serving medical kit and a flare gun for communication.

Weaponry

Although the unit as a whole can take what equipment they desire, its generally tradition in the unit you work your way from the most basic of weapons to the full power of Chthonia. This means they have a wider variety of equipment.

The Bastard Lance as its called is an outdated, dense lance featuring a pure iron core and a depleted uranium exterior. It gained its name from its immense weight but also its capabilites of ripping through armour. This is whats given to the scrubs of the King Breakers.

The Bukheyll Lance is whats given to those who have completed theri "hazing" as a recruit. Featuring an internal firing mechanism, the Bukheyll is by all means an explosive lance, featuring an 8 round magazine where explosive tipped lances are loaded on the underside of this. Unsurprisngly, these lances are horrific to fight against and reduce infantry to a bloody mush and can even punch noticable holes in the fearsome Siegebreakers. Of course not only must the rider be trained but the horse to as by no doubt is an explosion occuring next to you a terrifying experience.

Dragoon Service Rifles are lightweight but unreliable. Holding 3 rounds of .50 cal, these weapons are designed to deal as much damage as they can before inevitabley breaking. Raiders typically come equipped with 4 alongside of 2 Dragoon Service Pistols that are single shot variants of the rifle. This doesnt stop some veterans attempting to handle the ferocious power of these weapons as well as their lance.

As Siegebreakers became a common enemy, it was cavalry that would become responsible for immobilising or simply decomissioning the steel behemoths. For this, the Thermite Javline was designed. A pole with a sticky explosive on the end, a horse could carry up to 6 and they were intended for the rider to sprint past the tank and plant the charge in either the gears, turret rink or ideally, fuel tanks and engine and once the thermite charge detonates, it will damage the tank to the point where infantry can swarm it and either destroy it or claim it as their own. The detonation too is quite simple, with a pin on the end of the pole, the rider has a length of string with markers. Each marker indicates a meter from the target and so allows the rider to be clear from the target.

For the officers of the King Breakers, they carry with them a Cavalry sword. A curved, gold ornated blade, the Cavalry sword is a symbol of office and an excellent backup weapon should the lances faulter.

Vehicles

With the King Breakers being a cavalry unit they of course posses thousands of horses, specificially their own regiments breed called "The Royal Pain." These horses were bred for their speed and strength, able to carry fully armoured riders and alongside that, able to wear gas masks to survive the chemical and gas attacks. The 55th posses over 28,000 with 22,000 in active service currently.

Tactics

As a sort of hybrid cavalry/radier unit, the 55th Cavalry excell at exploiting weaknesses and charging headlong into the fray. Typically, they will pick of stragglers to start with, culling anyone who would be considered easy pickings until eventually a weakpoint reveals itself and at that point they'll rally and charge headlong into the enemies in order to break through. They typically carry a second rider on the horse as well to utalise Thermite Javlines to immobalise artillery and heavy machinery.

History

The King Breakers, a semi-trained milita unit. Originally, the King Breakers were members of the 54th Cavalary "Galvanisers." The 1,200 odd members that were originally concscripted all came from their home town of Okhranet, a small town that remained unalligned in the civil war until Noxus laid siege to them, believing they harboured Chthonic members. Once relief came they contributed 1,200 soldiers to join the cavalary and despite poor equipment and training, they joined the 30,000 other souls of the 54th. A month later, the 54th were called to the Butcher of Belkhetin, the 54th were cut down to just over 4,000 members, 600 of which were from Okhranet. Now no longer functional, the 54th disbanded and the 600 soldiers went on to form their own small cavalary unit inside of the 55th and were called "Riders of Okhranet." However, around this time the .50 cal lance had been introduced and with the size of the 55th they were some of the first units to in fact recieve these new lances. With 600 cavalry members, they were often split up into smaller teams and sent on small scale skirmishes where they excelled at culling infantry and were fericous, taking minimal casualties despite charging at enemy lines head on. Of course their numbers fell but quickly rose as the Riders stationed themselves in their home town and had a fresh supply of troops. Their claim to fame however would come during their attack on a Noxus FOB. Unkown to them, this base was operated by the Kings Guard, more speficially the Blood Ivory unit that were bolstering their forces to disrupt supply lines and start a terror campaign. The 55th attacked and only when it was too late did they realise their enemies. Most died however the Riders were some of the people who lived the longest. Despite overwhelming force and weapons, fighting against laser technology they held the offensive and once enough bodies created an opening, the 55th Cavalry charged into it. Of the 12,000 at the time, less than 90 survived but these 90 quickly earned the nickname "King Breakers" for crippling the Blood Ivory Guard. Of course, they caught the attention of higher ups and were quickly transfered to the front lines, taking all the able bodied men with them. This meant abandoning their post Okhranet which was to become housing for 109th Militia. A few weeks later, Okhranet was attacked and razed to demoralise the 55th Cavalary and they succeeded as the thrill jockies quickly became war veterans that realised that holding onto something during the Civil War opens the chance for weakness.
