The Nexus

At the heart of world-spanning network of inter-connected portals lays the Nexus. Part city, part fortress, part diplomatic mission, the Nexus is a shining beacon in a restless and often dangerous universe. On its cobbled streets walk everything from humans to dragons to sentient fire.   Some client nations view the Nexus as a partner, others as a necessary evil. There are whispers of a rival network being setup by those jealous of the Nexus' power and knowledge, formed from a coalition of worlds dissatisfied with the balance of power.
