Firbolg

Shepherds of the forest, hidden guardians of the woodland. I was lucky to be able to encounter one during my travels, though I feel that this was because he decided to reveal himself.   He was very secretive and shy, and didn't answer many of my questions. What he did reveal is documented here.
From the Notes of Lady Rhewa;
Dated the 4th of Shallan, 129
  Princess, there are a few of the bolg in the Guild, attached to this letter you should find additional information.

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

NOBODY JUST POPS INTO EXISTENCE! SERIOUSLY!   Presumably they breed like everyone else, my informant blushed adorably when I asked, and would only tell me that they give live birth.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Varies depending on region. Two of the bolg with the Guild come from a matriarchal society, a few others from an egalitarian democracy, one comes from a dictatorial oligarchy, and so on.

Facial characteristics

Firbolg are among the few giant-kin that are able to grow hair.

Firbolg don't usually believe that names are important, but they usually adopt elven names when dealing with creatures aren't bolg. If a name is given to them by someone that isn't firbolg, they will use that.

Hidden Step. As a bonus action, you can magically turn invisible until the start of your next turn or until you attack, make a damage roll, or force someone to make a saving throw. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Firbolg Magic. You can cast Detect Magic and Disguise Self with this trait, using Wisdom as your spellcasting ability for them. Once you cast either spell, you can't cast it again with this trait until you finish a short or long rest. When you use this version of disguise self, you can seem up to 3 feet shorter than normal, allowing you to more easily blend in with humans and elves.
Powerful Build. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Speech of Beast and Leaf. You have the ability to communicate in a limited manner with beasts and plants. They can understand the meaning of your words, though you have no special ability to understand them in return. You have advantage on all Charisma checks you make to influence them.   *Same roll used to determine height.
