Unfortunately, I was unable to learn much about the dragon born. They come in both metallic and chromatic varieties, and I believe that the particular type is important to their role and status. I will discover more if I am able.

Genetics and Reproduction

I must give credit to the female dragonborn. Though they mate like any other sapient species, the females lay eggs. When two dragonborn of different types (a silver and a red for instance), there are equal odds that the child will be either one.
