Design Notes and Setting Introduction

Motive of This Creation   Created to be diverse, each land specialized in unique styles of magic--this world is created to accommodate many types of stories and characters in order that my friends and myself can have a fun time hanging out and tell many different kinds of stories.     Mood   The default mood is "noble neutral," meaning player agency has the potential to impact the world greatly, and the tone is not too bright or grim. Note that the mood is very subject to change according to the players, campaign, and even specific session needs.     Scale   The default anticipated scale of a campaign is intranational, though having international characters does not conflict with the idea that most if not all of a campaign will likely be set in one nations boundaries. One of the greatest impacts on the feel and tone of the campaign will be determined by which nation is initially decided to be the campaign setting.     Morality of Factions and Nations   Although actions and policies can be catagorized as good and evil depending on the context, there is no such thing as a "good nation" or "evil nation" in this world nor in the real world. This idea extends to the larger Ruling Guilds and their morality. Lenses of morality and motivation lead well meaning people to do things that are considered corrupt and terrible people to perform actions that appear to be good. Sometimes leadership will strongly lean one way or another, but the innocence or guilt of a whole organization or nation cannot be determined accurately by the actions of the few in charge.     Central Tension   A lot of the controversy and opposition that will exist in this world and consequently the campaign will be generated from interfactional disputes as well as disagreements and schisms within a faction.     Story Stealing and Adaptation   Much of the world is stolen and reshaped from Ravnica, Hyper Light Drifter, Nausicaa, and Ebberon. The intent was not to be original, but to have fun.
