Dwarf

An isolated subterrannean species. It is incredibly rare to see any on the surface, and they are never known to visit any of major settlements. What little is known about them is that they are squat humanoids that create strange tunnels through the earth, collecting rare minerals for an unknown purpose. They farm and eat various kinds of Fungi, and in the infrequent times they trade with surfacers, it is usually for minerals or fungi. They speak a mysterious language unknown to outsiders, though some surfacers who deal with them claim to know a word or two. They are not typically aggressive, ignoring most other people unless they have a reason to interact, but they are very protective of their territory underground, and entering a Dwarf tunnel uninvited and unescorted usually provokes an attack.
