The Nation Of Adanir

The galaxy, once a bustling hive of intergalactic activity - now a cold mirror image of it's former self. A calamity swept across the galactic plane, resulting in a war whose death toll was measured in species. Many of these societies at their zenith roared back against the typhoon of despair with all of their might and burning passion, only to be blown out like candles. Now, the nightmare is over for the few remaining bastions of old power. However, for most of empires of a bygone era, it was a nightmare of which they'd never wake.   In the centuries since, the relative handful of primitive civilizations that were narrowly missed are now reaching for the stars themselves blissfully unaware of the horrors brought upon them. These adolescent civilizations think they are exploring uncharted waters, yet their solar systems and sensor signatures have been quietly lighting up the the monitors of unseen sentinels.   Of these sentinels, one of them dons the title of The Nation of Adanir. A rigid and insular, if peaceful nation. Their—at the time—young and naive society believed strongly that pacifist ideals would bring greater harmony to the galaxy. Their highly advanced, if otherwise inadequate navies could barely shield themselves from the onslaught, let alone others. They watched, powerless, as their sensor arrays on their neighbors fall forever silent. It was then they understood - that because they cherish life, they must have the strength to protect it.   Unlike the other "fallen empires" that have been obsessed with living in old glory or being consumed by stagnancy and apathy, The Nation Of Adanir is determined to do more than reclaim what was lost. One of the sleeping giants is awakening, and it will yield dramatic changes for the relatively small galactic stage of the current upstarts...  

Author's Note

This setting takes place in the Stellaris universe, and functions as an independent setting all on it's own, though it can exist in a shared universe with the other worlds I create. It can also be translated to function as a part of another universe, such as Starfinder.
