The Iron Ring

What do you mean what's the Iron Ring? It's where you're standing idiot! We're standing within it, damn fool. Torque runs everything here, from the market to the fight pits, and so he gets a piece on everything that comes across the bridge. He's one of the few out there who refuses to give into Brother Grunge's threats and demands, though there's talk that him and Grunge have a secretive deal going on. The Pits are where slaves, the desperate, or the truly skilled go to make a living here, especially if they don't sign up to be part of one of the convoys in the Musthave. Old Crank is the Lore Keeper and tries to educate the youngsters round here, though many go off to do their own thing after a year or so of listening to the old bastard. Mutants aren't treated as badly as they are in other places out in the Wastelands, but if you've got gills, you'd do best to keep it under wraps. Now get out of my way puke, I heard a caravan's brought in a set of tools and my rig's in pretty rough shape.

Defences

The Iron Ring is built up along the mountains of the New Range, letting them do the majority of the defense work while the walls of the Ring are built out of scavenged metal, and it shows, and the wall is in constant need of replacement and repair. Despite this, they've fended off every raider who's tried to breach them.

A hub of trade, where it gains the majority of its power, though produces some metal and gems from its steads.

The Iron Ring is situated at the bottom of the so called "New Range", the mountains that formed after Doomsday and the Years of Dark Ice, built to have the mountains do the majority of the defense work for them.

There are groups of 'steads within a day or two's drive from the Ring made to exploit the resources left behind from the old world.
