Runecraft
Runecraft is among the more simple artisanal works, but given an opportunity, can be incredibly complex. The core of it boils down to magic-infused symbols with specific functions working together to accomplish a previously designed task. Additionally, one with enough training in them can even materialize runes in the air for extra versatility, although that would be considered a sigil.
Perception
Purpose
Runists are often very versatile in their craft, thanks to the many types of runes with various amounts of permanence.
Social Status
Often, career-focused runists gather commissions from all walks of life, taking jobs depending on their skill level from anyone, be they a noble hoping to protect their home from intruders or a wanderer needing some extra protection on their armor.
History
The practice of runecraft was first founded by an ice-attuned stone giant around one and a half millennia ago. This giant decided to share their craft with some intrigued CryoMaji, and the art of runecarving became widespread before long. Due to its origin, runes became rooted in the written, or rather carved language of the stone giants. Despite the craft's ancient, somewhat crude look, the art itself is believed to be one of the youngest still-surviving Pre-Connection magical practice.
Operations
Tools
The tools one uses to make a rune depends on how they make it. For example, one might carve a rune into a piece of wood or forge it into a blade.
Workplace
Runists often travel around the Multiverse, providing their services to anyone in need of them, though some find a community rich in runic need and decide to settle down and hope for the best.
Dangers & Hazards
The most occupational danger one can find oneself in through runecraft is blowing oneself up by a faulty rune. Runes may be a simple trade, but runists are nothing if not precise.
