Majikai

The Majikai are a magical people who draw energy from the innate nature of the land they tread. They gain the ability to control the flow of magic around them soon after birth, and their powers evolve based off of the land they live off of as they mature. This is due to the power of the sources of magic that give off energy into the Verses around them. There is also a strong physical difference between a Majikai who has lived in one Verse for their entire childhood and another from a different one, due to the differences in the nature of the magic that surrounds each verse. There are five known kinds of Majikai, each one based off of the verse they grow up in.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Majikai have characteristics similar to an average human, excepting their skin, hair, and eye color, most of which is under constant change until they reach the end of their adolescence.

Genetics and Reproduction

Majikai are only able to reproduce during the fifth and final month of the year, Genesis, when those who have practiced in the power of Generating manipulate the unusually surging power of the source of Life magic in the BioVerse in order to create new Majikai.

Growth Rate & Stages

It takes about 20 years for a Majikai to fully mature, while both their physical attributes and their magical capabilities evolve. During this time, it is determined which element a Majikai will bond to, most likely being the one they spent the most time in its home Verse.

Ecology and Habitats

Majikai are highly adaptable, able to live almost anywhere if need be.

Biological Cycle

Majikai Mature at around the age of 20, and usually live to be about 250 years old.

Additional Information

Average Intelligence

Majikai have a wide range of intelligence, though the average is somewhat above the middle.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

As is tradition, after a Majikai is generated, its name will only be given by its parents within a one-month period. If they are not adopted within a two-month period, a name will be given to them and they will be sent to one of the six major orphanages throughout the Multiverse, one for each Verse including the Hub.

Average Technological Level

Majikai, since the Connection, have come together to unite their advancements and bring everyone to equal footing at a fairly advanced level.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Along with the Multiversal language, Fracturian, Majikai have five different languages, each belonging to a Verse and a race of Majikai.

History

Majikai were originally created by the Primordials to populate the Verse(s) for the purpose of keeping the world from becoming imbalanced. After the Great Separation, the Alchemicals tried to recreate their siblings' masterpiece, but failed in a very important way. It is because of this that the tradition of Generation now exists, as a solution to the problems it caused. That is also the way the second month of the year became known as Generation.

Common Myths and Legends

The most prominent tale from the mythos of Majikai is the legend of the Traveler, a story that has survived despite its age for more than five millenia and still has an impact on today's culture.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

On Dragons: They are hard to find in today's society, so there isn't much to go off of, but those that do communicate with us often act as if we are of no consequence to them. We deserve more respect than that.   On Giants: They're scarce nowadays, but those that do still walk the Multiverse seem kindhearted, and we respect that.
