The Free Dragons

Those of the Free Dragons are worshippers of the god Drako who created both the dragons and the Dragonborn race.

Structure

Given the Dragonborn's love for order and structure, the Free Dragons is one of the most cleanly structured religious organizations in existence. Those that take these higher ranks within the religious organization are required to be of Draconic-blood, either full-dragons or dragonborn.   Dragons The dragons, the few that still exist, are the primary leaders of the religious group given they are the first creations of the god Drako, who the religion is centered on, but also the most "pure-blooded" form of a dragon.   Clerics These are the holy leaders who will often be seen managing the churches of Drako. They will spread teachings and also raise up, from birth, future clerics. Every cleric is equipped with a holy symbol showing that they are a member of the Free Dragons. The holy symbol is equipped with the individual's most prized gem, jewel, or ornate piece from their horde. The idea behind this is that the holy symbol itself and its representation of the religious organization should be the most prized possession of the draconian creature.   Paladins The fighters of the Free Dragons are gifted with blessed powers from Drako to combat any and all who would wish to see harm come to the members of the Free Dragons or any creature with dragon blood flowing through their veins. They have a calling to protect the few remaining dragons on the planet from those who might want to hunt them or kill them for any reason. Paladins of the religion are often referred to as the "Talons of Drako."

History

Drako, the god of dragons, was created by a collaborative effort by his brothers Tao (the god of humans) and Threyo (the god of beasts). Together they created Drako and his dragons who would be the first creatures featuring both beast and sentient attributes.   Not long after their creation Tao and Threyo began to war. During this quarrel, Threyo drugged Drako and stole control of the dragons Drako had created in order to use them to plague the humans. Drako awoke a hundred years later to find that his brother Tao had been slain, and Threyo faded away from lack of worship due to a curse placed on all the gods, including himself, requiring the worship of their creations for survival. Fearing his time would come soon seeing that the dragons were practically extinct, and feeling great remorse for how his creation had been used by his brother Threyo, he used the remainder of his power to create one final creature: the Dragonborn which he had hoped would be a connection between the humans and dragons to restore the relationship.   As he laid, ready to die, he discovered that the Dragonborn were supplying him with the worship and praise he needed to continue on. From that moment the Free Dragons were born and Drako worked with the Dragons and the new race he had made to restore the relationship that had been destroyed during the warring.

And the question is, who was the one who placed that curse?) Seems like there is a lot of work cut out for Drako given he is, it seems, the only god in existence :)   Loved the article)
