The Followers of Fullber

Mythology & Lore

Fullber is the god of the northwestern corner of the region where the snow never melts. He is known as being the "tough love god" a deity intent on seeing his followers suffer in order to truly admit their dedication to him. He reigns over the icy region he maintains as such a harsh environment. He requires that those who wish to follow him live in such difficult terrain as a form of worship. It's important to note that he is not always placing his subjects under trial. He gifts them heavily for their dedication. Many in his region are known to be strong, in part due to the harsh climate and also from his blessing. Many wield the power of the region they reside in and are known as the "ice folk" for their powers pertaining to the biting cold.   When Fullber visits the material realm he takes the form of a Frost Giant and reigns at the top of the mountain Juman Kresto or "God's Chair." Fullber is known to visit every ten years to speak to his people and even punish those who have sinned against him.

Cosmological Views

Those that follow Fullber are not easily broken. As the climate around them, they can be tough and harsh. They do not take failure and accidents lightly. Discipline is hard and often they grow up with seemingly blank personalities.    The people that live in the region and serve their god Fullber are typically quite large and hefty. They have been gifted these features through their dedication to their deity. In addition, they often times will possess strong ice-magic. Spells relating to snow and ice will come naturally to their people, more so to those who have a higher level of dedication to Fullber and his teachings.

Tenets of Faith

The Commandments of Fullber

Those who follow Fullber's commandments will be rewarded with strength and power.   Commandment 1: Never take the easy way out. The easy way out is lazy and prone to negative consequences. Even a failure doing things the hard way leads to strength of mind and stature.   Commandment 2: Those who fail, are punished.  Even the simplest crime can cause a catastrophe. Never let a mishap go unpunished. For through punishment one will learn not to fail again.   Commandment 3: Dealings are conducted with truth and honesty. Dishonesty shows weakness and is no different than taking the easy road. Even with outsiders, a follower of Fellber avoids lies and false truths when conducting business.   Commandment 4: Those that wish to eat, work. All things must be earned. All things must be worked for. Never let it be said one who follows Fellber has not earned his or her keep.   Commandment 5: Laziness and Sluggishness are crimes above all others. Laziness can cause the death of a family or a tribe. When a follower of Fullber shows signs of laziness it is the responsibility of the tribe to punish that individual.

Priesthood

The three strongest in the land are chosen to represent the followers of Fullber. These three are chosen every 10 years from anyone who wishes to enter and fight against the others who have entered. Although the title of "Fullber's Pride" is bestowed on these three, it is an honor that primarily only comes into play twice in the holder's time with it.    Firstly, those who are chosen, after the ceremony, are sent up Jumon Kresto where they are gifted with the honor of meeting with their god face-to-face. He will speak to them, give them words and instructions to take back to their villages, and offer gifts for their strength and perseverance.   Secondly, they will be the judges of those that compete for the honor next decade. It is said, that sometimes Fullber will communicate with one or more of these three during their time as his "pride" with important words and warnings for them to pass on to all his followers. When this happens, the three members participate in a ceremony to determine the truth behind the message and the full meaning of what their god is saying.   During the competition, although any number of entrants may take place in the competition, only one from any tribe can be chosen for the honor of being a member of "Fullber's Pride." This is to ensure no grouping will try backhanded attempts to get multiple members from any one tribe into "Fullber's Pride."   The competition, or as some call them "trials," is in three parts. The first being an intense natural obstacle course as the entrants race across a dangerous cliffside to the finish line. The second is a hunting trial where the participants use their skills to hunt the biggest prey and return with it to the tribe. Finally, there is a versus-style fight. Singular members from different tribes will face others one-on-one, while any groupings from a single tribe will fight together.

Granted Divine Powers

Strength: Those who worship Fullber are gifted with large, strong, muscular bodies.   Tough Builds: Along with their physical strength, those who serve Fullber are known to be strong in Constitution, able to withstand both extreme heat and cold and take larger amounts of physical damage than others.   Ice and Snow Magic: Those who worship Fullber are known to be naturally adept at wielding magic and spells relating to the cold, ice, or snow.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Those who follow Fullber typically don't participate heavily in the political existence in the rest of the realm. Because they live in the harsher climates that most others would avoid, they are not typically bothered by the rules and regulations created by others because those others don't want to come to their territory and enforce those rules.   The followers of Fullber typically have a "don't bother us and we won't bother you" attitude. They are not looking to convert followers to Fullber, but welcome those who wish to join with strict warnings beforehand.
