The city of peace

Following years of peace and cooperation, the people of Earth strengthened their bonds more and more. Organizations like the European Union and the United Nations slowly joined together into one, and soon almost all the inhabited parts of the globe joined forces under one flag, the Union. It was agreed that a city should be built to serve as the capital for the entire planet, not belonging to any one country, but to the Union. After many debates it was decided the city would be placed near what was once Istanbul. Direct flights were established to newly built airports in America, China and Europe. Many of the greatest architects alive were assembled and designed the various buildings that quickly got full of people moving to the new city. Today the city has a population of a few million people.

The culture

Being a tieing point for the whole world, a lot of different cultures and ideas meet and develop. almost all the latest trends start in the capital, and then spread to the rest of the world. The clearest way to notice how everything has mixed together is the holidays, that now almost exclusively are celebrated at the same time all over the world, mixing in a few different holidays into one. You can however still see a clear distinction between the different districts housing people from specific countries.

The districts

To help prevent the language barrier to be a too big problem, different districts are set up for different languages and/or countries. Within them any signs and information exists both in the native language and English.
