House Balayne

Led by Lady Tatiana de Balayne, House Balayne is an old house, stretching back before the Unholy Crusades; it gained notoriety because of their extensive work on the research and archiving of the worlds history. Entrusted with the Kingdom of Karathus' royal archives, the Balayne house was held in high regard by the monarchy, in close cohorts at most times.
However, the houses name was tarnished when it was found out that the spouse of Lady Tatiana de Balayne, Silvain, had formed an accursed pact with a lepikrin, a seductive demon that had enchanted the man with their abyssal spells. Upon being discovered, Silvain's lepikrin paramour took control of him, causing him to sprout demonic appendages and mercilessly attack servants and family alike, until their son, Eric de Balayne, put him down with refined skill and technique, unknown to the family, nor him.
While the royal archives are still managed by scholars of House Balayne, they have drifted out of the public eye, with their royal favour vastly diminished.
