Cromlinde Fairy
The Warrior's Fairy
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Female Cromlinde lay fertilized eggs in clusters of 30 to 40 eggs each. These eggs are attached within the confines of hollows and openings in trees before being abandoned by their mother. After a week the clusters will begin to hatch with the nymphs capable of surviving without the aid of the adults of the species.
Dietary Needs and Habits
One of only a few breeds of what the common people call "Murderous Fairies" the Cromlinde have been seen brutally killing their own kind as well as other breeds of fairy and feasting upon them though this is partially correct, fairies do not make up the bulk of the Cromlinde's diet. Instead their most common source of food appears to be small rodents and insects, though it is believed that if not for their small size, the Cromlinde would be happy to hunt and consume even larger prey.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Extremely territorial this breed of fairy does not tolerate intruders of any sort of there species or any other variety of fairy, only begrudgingly accepting the company of there own kind during there winter mating season where males and females alike war for the right to mate a bloody spectacle that leaves dozens of Cromlinde dead.
Domestication
Difficult to train due to their sheer aggression these fairies are most commonly captured wild by fairy tenders and quickly sold off to fighting rings.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Captured Cromlinde can often be seen squaring off against their own kind in back allies and gambling halls. This practice is especially popular in the east and it is also interesting to note that while their wild siblings are not known to be tool users it is possible to teach a Cromlinde to use simple weapons leading to a niche industry of forging fairy-sized arms and armor for the fighting rings.
