When Tantalis first appeared, battered, bruised, and alone on the shores of Vastreach, she seemed an unassuming figure aside from certain physical characteristics. These characteristics such as her deep red and vibrantly bright eyes and her elven heritage would spawn thousands of rumors and myths regarding her true origins. The fact of the matter is the woman only declares herself as an "outcast of the high elves houses" though no house claims to recognize her, be they highborn or lowborn.

Lady Tantalis Alandira is a curious creature whose background is shrouded in mystery and rumor.
During the early days of the third age, when the kingdom was embroiled in paranoia and kings and queens were dying with such frequency and ill-fortune to have the royal line seem cursed, a woman appeared and offered council.
In the year 2782, Alandira arrived on a longboat of unknown origin and craftsmanship on the northeastern coast of the Kingdom of Rendeh between the jagged cliffs of the Drakeback Mountains and the treacherous Aybehan's Fall. The storm seen from the coast was tempestuous, as if the gods of sky and ocean had become consumed by fierce battle, but the woman had survived, though just barely.
