Notable People in Baj-Surat

Guru Kuldeep Shahza High priest of the temple. Eccentric and wise alchemist and spiritual guide. Maybe the last living guru.   Merchant Prince Mokhem Closely connected to mainland traders and contacts via spies, more of a native Andoran Masiy than most in Baj-Surat. Refutes the birthright of a firstborn Andoran king undoubtedly.   Medjay Nuru, Son of the Phoenix Patron guardian of Baj-Surat, great-great grandson of legendary hashashin warlord before they dedicated themselves to the protection of the Andoran Sultanate. Would not question the rule of a Masiy first born unlike some.   Sneev the Snake Originally from Rat Town, Sneev is an information broker that trades his ill-gotten information that is usually stolen or extorted from travelers who have visited Rat Town and sells it to the trader caravans.

Landmarks

Temple of the Gurus Located inside of the palace, and is opened weekly to the general public. Inside is a cloister where the Medjay sleep, train, and worship.   The Sultan’s Palace, the Dawnkeep Meeting area for affluent nobles and merchants of all ethnicities and races who have curried Khadesh’s favor and essentially live there. The sultan’s palace is a remnant of the old world of the Bedouin, when they lived side-by-side with “the others,” a race of nonhuman creatures shrouded in mystery. It is thought they flourished in the Primal Age by this bond, but it lead to their destruction about the same time of the death of Acererak. The palace is rumored to be the home of the heinous necromancy that contributed to the fall of the Bedouin people.   The Bazaar Where the skillful trade of the sultan’s merchant caravans can show their wares to their people. They leave for weeks on end, and when a trade prince of repute comes to town, it is always an egregious show of wealth and exotic curios. All manner of goods can be bought here, but the Masiy are notably known for their fine jewelry, glasswork, metalwork, and textiles.   The Spice Dens   The Trade House (hub for trade concession, bidding, and exchange)   The Grate (Fighting arena)   The Sorceror’s Tower Maintained by ex-magocrat Silar Paru, sorcerer and researcher
