The Last Front

The year is 2452, Earth, no longer the only hope for humanity, has entered a state of chaos. Ever since the 2nd Great War, and after the signing of the Donitz Treaty in 1949, Earth, the birthplace of humanity, has entered a never-ending state of Cold War. This treaty was never meant to last and has ultimately led to the creation of three great powers.   First, the United States of America, once the symbol of peace and freedom is now an overpopulated and militaristic state. After the election of Jackson Pershing in 2100, the power of Congress has begun to slowly fade away over time. With more executive powers at his disposal, President General Pershing led an all-out war tailored to expansionism on the neighbors of the United States. Annexing both North and South America, and using the newly conquered land to create puppet states to service the United States of America, the American Alliance was crafted in the bloody aftermath of the conflicts that so deeply ravaged the New World. Ever since then, the American economy has entered a steep downfall. With overspending on its military and the rise of resistance movements in its puppet states, some say that the United States is showing signs of a failing nation and is doomed to collapse.   The German Empire, after the 1st Great War and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles became aggressive and believed the whole world was at their throats and out to get them. In 1933, Adolf Hitler rose to dominate the German government under the Nazi regime and due to his leadership, the Weimar Republic before him crumbled away and the 3rd German Reich was born from it; like a phoenix rising from the ashes. With the hearts of the German people reinvigorated and the Reich poised to stand for a thousand years, they ignored the Treaty of Versailles and began their crusade against Europe during the 2nd Great War. Under the doctrine of the Blitzkrieg, they plowed through the whole of Europe, not only annexing their countries but also annexing their colonies. After the gruesome conflict that destroyed tens of millions, the Swastika was raised proudly over Europa and all of its colonial holdings. Now, the Großdeutsches Reich (Greater German Reich) has expanded its influence to every corner of the globe, from sea to shining sea.   After the Donitz Treaty ended the 2nd Great War, the Soviet Union almost collapsed under its own weight. In all realities, the Donitz Treaty was a sign of mercy to the Soviets who had lost 50 million men to the German war machine. Moreover, once the war had halted to a standstill, new factions began to rise up in Russia; all universally demanding a change of pace for the Motherland. This schism in the Russian populace is what caused the 2nd Russian Revolution. However, the newly emerged Red China, under the tutelage of Mao Zedong, sought to forge an alliance between their two struggling nations and due only to the help from the Chinese, the Soviets were able to regain control over Russia. The alliance between the Soviets and the Chinese led to an economic pact that persisted for so long that, eventually, their two economies became inseparable. After their economies and thusly their vision merged into one, China and the Soviet Union coalesced into one nation to better protect themselves against the threats of the world. With this alliance, many communist revolutions began to sprout all over the world. Countries like Iran, Turkey, and the fledgling states of Eastern Europe fell to communism; with Union support that is. However, in 2452, the Union is beginning to fragment just like the American Alliance. Now, a question is on the minds of the leaders of the Union, “Will we hold strong in our time of need or fall apart in these dire times?   Now, the turning point of humanity comes into the forefront. The economies of the Earthen nations are crumbling and the lives of 50 billion men, women, and children are now at risk. Will Earth be able to prosper and grow like the past? Will the human colonies outside of their homeworld be able to continue the peace now that the nations of Earth are at each other's doors yet again? Now is humanity's time to choose: will we join hands and lead our race into the stars or die out within the confines of our own home?
