Magic Steel

During the process of the creation of steel, it can become magic steel if it has a soul bonded into it. This cannot be done once the steel has already been composed.
These souls can be from any kind of living sentient being, with less intelligent beings being weaker and stronger beings being much stronger.
Most cultures have condemned this practice, however, with how hard it is to cut through the dark forces with normal steel weapons, it has become commonplace after the fall.

Utility

Some souls have become corrupted in this process, creating a volatile sword that reacts wildly with magic.

Manufacturing

A person must be sacrificed, after the fall, with so many people being on deaths door, it has become commonplace to give up your life in your final hours to this process.

Access & Availability

It is a very closely guarded secret among the common people, but there is much less worry about it getting out now than if this was before the fall.

Discovery

This process has been around for hundreds if not thousands of years. However, until recently it was taboo.
