The Land of the Traitor King

Not long ago, there was period of mistrust and war called the time of thousand kings. After several kings weakened the power of the crown, all noble houses in the continent of Ulthan claimed Independence. This led to many lords launching small scale battle and large scale war over the smallest tracks of land. This encouraged a particularly brutal style of ruler ship.   This includes the fiefdom of New Augestgrad, the home town of the now infamous Traitor King. Jedidiah Lapp was born to a family of serfs, his ability as a sorcerer was apparent very early in his life. Killing several members of this town, including three family members, he was used by Lord Harmen Fleck as a living weapon of war. He usurped Lord Fleck in at what is now known as the Arid Narrow, when Lapp killed much of both of Lord Flecks and a neighboring Lord's armies, claiming both lands as his own. He brutally crushed the other lords of Ulthan in a short but very bloody campaign. He is now known as the Traitor King.   Now formally known as the Salamander King for his innate ability with fire magic, Lapp now uses the “Hands of the King” to do much of the statecraft. There are currently seven hands of varying fame, they are some of the strongest magicians and warriors on Ulthan.
