Tir Navian Clerics and Paladins

The land of Ceolund has two main bodies which look over their country. The bards who really act as diplomats and largely deal with the outside world, and the religion of Tir Navians. Named for the land of the gods where they rest, the religion took on the name as a reminder of the paradise which their gods rest in.   Clerics of Tir Navia are largely based out of Ceolund, their places of worship built up and into the mountains of the island nation, but their churches scattered across their allied countries also produce many clerics. Often times the domain of a cleric will relate to one of the five winged gods, harnessing an aspect of the god in their honour.   Though it is part of the tenants to be tolerant of the other belief systems, as Tir Navians believe they are just different conceptions of the same gods they worship, their primary goal is to root out monsters and abominations in the world, and invasive gods which the Oracle has not passed her judgment on as being tolerable. This is really only evil gods which she calls to be destroyed.

Career

Qualifications

Clerics and Paladins of Tir Navia spend at least 2 years of service as acolytes in her temples before being allowed to take on specialized training to become a cleric or paladin. Those who show a greater aptitude for the magical arts are trained as clerics while those skilled in the martial arts become paladins.

Career Progression

Clerics will work in temples for a long period of time before seeing any advancement, the same would go for Paladins. They are expected to work in earnest until their higher ups recognize their ability and decide to entrust special missions, tasks or areas to them. Some clerics may gain the title of Bishop and be funded to set up a branch of the church in a distant town for example.

Members of the church of Tir Navia are given 1gp a day to cover a modest lifestyle, as they do not want their followers to live in squalor, nor should they live in extravagance.

The church of Tir Navia is recognized in many of the countries across the world, which grants social credit to its clergy men when visiting.
