Heralds of Ceolund

In the world of Gallilir, Bards have a duty that goes beyond bringing joy and merriment to the masses. The bards of Gallilir act as messengers of important events which have come to pass. These bards are known as heralds and are specifically appointed by the Gallilir Bard Union.   Someone who has built great renown for themselves working across the land as a bard can receive a summons from the Union. The bard will be placed under a series of tests and be met with one of the Elven seers of Ceolund. If they pass their tests they'll be granted a masterfully crafted seal enchanted with magic.   Once a bard becomes a herald, they are allowed to be brought to historical events as an official witness to pass the information onto the masses. Members of the College of Lore attend many important diplomatic moments in history, while members of the College of Valour attends battles to report and retell what happened.   The role of the Herald is especially important as their retelling is what is added to the history books, so only the most skilled and trustworthy bards are given the opportunity to become a Herald.
