Kartikan Time Keeping and Calendar

The Kartikan Calendar and Time Keeping is based on the cycles of Vall: the fourth planet of Kartika. All dates and references to the passage of time will be based on this system.   A single Kartikan second is equal to 1.6 seconds on Earth. The Kartikan day is 100,000 seconds; the day is divided into 10 hours, with 100 minutes per hour, and 100 seconds per minute. A year is 115 days. There are no months on the Kartikan Calendar; the year is divided into 23 five-day weeks known as Intervals.   Due to the exact length of the year on Vall being 115.68 days, a long day – in which the last calendar day of the year is 20 hours instead of 10 – occurs every other year.   The Kartikan Year is only 59% the length of a year on Earth.   Reiteration of the above data for easy reference:   1.6 Earth Seconds = 1 Kartikan Second
0.59 Earth Years = 1 Kartikan Year
  100 Seconds = 1 Minute
100 Minutes = 1 Hour
10 Hours = 1 Day
5 Days = 1 Interval
23 Intervals = 1 Year
The time is displayed as Hour:Minute:Second, while the date is displayed Day.Interval.Year KSE   The current date is 4.21.1877 KSE. Can also be written out as: Day 4 of Interval 21, Year 1877 KSE.   KSE is Kartikan Standard Era. BSE, or Before Standard Era, is used for all dates prior to 1 KSE.
