Waeb

Wa’eb

The Wa'eb are people dedicated to the protection and presentation of scripture to the given religion and have a divine connection to a god within the pantheon. While wa'eb is defined as "Pure One", where they are pure in dedication to the faith, it is also defined as "One who purifies", being a practitioner of the faith's rituals for the village.   The Wa'eb work at a temple, though not necessarily live there, being entirely dependant on the size of the temple, village, and if a Gaffe already lives there.. Lector Wa'eb is the most senior position of wa'ebs at the temple, being in charge of daily operations and holidays. Equal in status to a Lector, but having precidence is the Gaffe. Only in the Capitol, would there be both a Gaffe and a Lector managing a temple, due to the size and importance of the temple. Above them all is the First Prophet, head of the whole religeous organization. Below in status of a Wa'eb and doing much of the prep work is the Hem-netjer.
The Wa'eb distinguish themselves from the Hem-Netjer as they have Divine Akhu, like the Gaffe and are able to perform miracles.

Operations

Provided Services

Funerals, Blessings, and Holidays are the three staples of a successful Temple. The Wa'eb can perform all three in the name of the god for which the temple was built. Each Temple has their own special rituals based on the god it's based on. Much of their finances come from these three. For the Lector Wa'eb, if they are gifted enough or favored by the gods, they can perform other miracles such as bringing someone back to life..for a price. though that gift is more towards the gods than the Wa'eb.
