Noven O'shill

Noven Oshill

Born in Denshir Noven had a normal upbringing. His father was a mason and his mother a seamstress and he had no siblings. His family although not wealthy by any means, did not go hungry. though he participated in schooling, he clearly was not suited for studies and thus joined the Sharped Swords: Denshir's militia as the ripe age of 15.   His time in the Sharpened Swords taught him how to use a blade and to handle himself in the wilderness. Fighting in the shubs helped him hone his instincts and he learned to trust his gut as much as his eyes. After spending a number of years he used his experience to become a mercenary, making more money than one would in the militia.   In his time as a mercenary he traveled the Golden Road until he established himself in one of the caravans as a guard. His time in the caravn taught him the in's and outs of travel along the expansive road. Using that knowledge, he invested his time and income into the caravan, eventually becoming a part owner in the operation. He traveled for years working up his business and surrounding himself with individuals who could cover for his weaknesses as an individual.   Though his business had picked up, troubled times in Athera seem to be on the horizon and his gut told him to move on to greener pastures. Maybe Drealyn holds the keys to his future.

----Background----

Wagonmaster. You are used to being in charge of the operation and your reputation for reliability has you on a short list when the job is critical. Experience has taught you to rely on your gut. Others recognize this and look to you for direction when a situation gets serious. You are able to identify the most defensible locations for camping. If you are part of a caravan outfit, you are able to attract two additional workers that are loyal to you based on your reputation. You have an excellent memory for maps and geography and can always determine your cardinal directions while traveling. Note: This feature is a variant of the Outlander feature.

----Feats----

Animal Handler. You master the techniques needed to train and handle animals. You gain the following benefits: Increase your Wisdom score by 1, to a maximum of 20. You gain proficiency in the Animal Handling skill. If you are already proficient in the skill, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks you make with it. You can use a bonus action on your turn to command one friendly beast within 60 feet of you that can hear you and that isn’t currently following the command of someone else. You decide now what action the beast will take and where it will move during its next turn, or you issue a general command that lasts for 1 minute, such as to guard a particular area.

Brawny. You count as if you were one size larger for the purpose of determining your carrying capacity.

Mounted Combatant. You have advantage on melee attack rolls against any unmounted creature that is smaller than your mount. You can force an attack targeted at your mount to target you instead. If your mount is subjected to an effect that allows it to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, it instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if it fails.

----Class----
Actions
Action Surge.Take an extra action (use once/rest).

Bonus Actions
Second Wind.Regain 1d10 + 8 HPs (use once/rest).

Dueling Fighting Style. When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with that weapon.

Bonus Proficiency .When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, History, Insight, Performance, or Persuasion. Alternatively, you learn one language of your choice. .

Born to the Saddle .Starting at 3rd level, your mastery as a rider becomes apparent. You have advantage on saving throws made to avoid falling off your mount. If you fall off your mount and descend no more than 10 feet, you can land on your feet if you’re not incapacitated. Finally, mounting or dismounting a creature costs you only 5 feet of movement, rather than half your speed.

Unwavering Mark.Starting at 3rd level, you can menace your foes, foiling their attacks and punishing them for harming others. When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can mark the creature until the end of your next turn. This effect ends early if you are incapacitated or you die, or if someone else marks the creature. While it is within 5 feet of you, a creature marked by you has disadvantage on any attack roll that doesn’t target you. In addition, if a creature marked by you deals damage to anyone other than you, you can make a special melee weapon attack against the marked creature as a bonus action on your next turn. You have advantage on the attack roll, and if it hits, the attack’s weapon deals extra damage to the target equal to half your fighter level. Regardless of the number of creatures you mark, you can make this special attack a number of times equal to your Strength modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

Warding Maneuver. At 7th level, you learn to fend off strikes directed at you, your mount, or other creatures nearby. If you or a creature you can see within 5 feet of you is hit by an attack, you can roll 1d8 as a reaction if you’re wielding a melee weapon or a shield. Roll the die, and add the number rolled to the target’s AC against that attack. If the attack still hits, the target has resistance against the attack’s damage. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest. .
