Gavnir the Idiot
The Idiot, The Wolf That Waits, The Crouched One
Gavnir the Idiot is the god of assassination, betrayal, deceit, jealousy, blood, and cruelty. He has been worshipped since the days of the Fomori Wars and hundreds of years after, though many in modern times have turned away from the worship of such a violent god some cities namely those with a concentration of Aoina followers have outlawed his worship to the point of executing those convicted of indulging in the beliefs. Often called the Wolf That Waits or The Crouching One, Gavnir appears in many forms though he favors the visage of a pale skinned and tattooed male draped in a bloodied wolf skin who eyes are hidden from view his arms are bound with spiked chains and covered in many raw and bloodied self-inflicted wounds. He also is depicted holding an onyx dagger dripping with crimson. Thought the be twin sibling of Kattnir the Awkward he and her share a similar penchant for death and jealousy. Oddly, he has been worshipped by the Elves as a hero-god though even amongst their circles is worshipped done in the shadows. His vile murderous powers are often invoked in bloodletting rituals.

Tenets of Faith
As a death cult, the strictures
of the Crouching One hold that all death is sacred, but
assassination and murder the most sacred. It should not be
rushed and killing is its own reward. Opportunities should
not pass you by and though murdering by proxy is acceptable,
it’s not ideal. Bloodmongers are commanded not to betray
the cult or conceal their killings from the clergy or the public
– they are blasphemous artists in a way. They are often tasked killing those they believe to be a threat to Gavnir such as High Mothers of Aoina or other such faiths. Finally, those who carry out these assassinations are only supposed to carry weapons that can be easily concealed.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
The Crouching One’s murderous priests
are called Bloodmongers. The only outward sign that anyone
is a Bloodmonger are the tattoos they mark themselves with
after every individual that they personally slay. Of course, they
cover up such tattoos except in their ceremonies where they
revel in them. They worship in secret and their ceremonies
are often very sanguine and manic. The more killings they
carry out in the name of the Crouching One, the more erratic
and euphoric they become (though they expertly hide the
madness in public). It does not take much for a Bloodmonger
to tip over the edge into complete insanity, killing wantonly
with serial joy. Many priests of the Crouching One suffer
from a Disorder called the Dark Passenger
