Following the imprisonment of the Whispering Tyrant in 3827 AR, the orcs now freed mostly retreated back to the Hold of Belkzen, hoping to return to their now distant lifestyle.

Following the imprisonment of the Whispering Tyrant in 3827 AR, the orcs now freed mostly retreated back to the Hold of Belkzen, hoping to return to their now distant lifestyle. However the impact of 600 year under a necromancer's rule has shifted many orcs' perceptions with some choosing to remain in Ustalav among undeads and other creatures of Tar-Baphon, others venturing further north to the Worldwound.   To the orcs of the Hold and across Avistan, the centuries spent under the necromancer's dominion have only revitalised their hatred of undeath and is rarely reminisced upon. In Orcish, that time is referred to "The Cold" with the term translated as "cold", carrying implications of fear and illness. Mentioning it to orcs of the Hold specifically is sure to yield a prompt challenge, duel or rage-fueled Great Axe to the face.
