Personal history

August and his sister grew up learning from their father who played cards. When he was killed when he and his sister were teenagers, they moved in with his best friend Atticus. By that point, Atticus had become relatively wealthy, and barely had to support them, as they were already experienced con men. Neither she or her brother were particularly cruel, but both were extremely talented, they were in constant competition with each other.
