The Mariner

A small, beautiful wooden pier on the southwest side of the island is the backdrop of this upscale restaurant and bar, owned by the Dupree family. It is not unusual for a sitting President or other high ranking politicians to dine at the restaurant at some point during the summer. Above the restaurant is a bedroom suite that can be rented, featuring very modern amenities balanced by fantastic rustic decor.

From the pier, the restaurant also provides yacht tours, day sailing, and three day fishing trips. A ferry comes and goes from the private pier to Orono on the mainland, every 4 hours during tourist season, and once at dawn and sunset in the off-season.
