Meere M'Nekko

Meere M'Nekko

Meere M'Nekko is an Air Caste pilot serving aboard LeGausche's expeditionary crew. He dreams of one day becoming a hero to his people, the T'au, and possesses a laidback, optimistic attitude.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Meere is slightly taller than average for a member of the T'au species, which puts him at roughly average "human height." He has a slender build befitting a void-born, having lived a majority of his life in artificial gravity.

Body Features

Meere has dark navy and amber skin and vestigial membranous wings like many Air Caste T'au.

Facial Features

Meere posesses various bionic sensory input systems that aid in piloting voidcraft, such as the interface visor that he is rarely seen without. In combat, the visor doubles as a tactical display, much like those found in Fire Warrior helmets. His facial structure is soft and slender, almost Elvish, with large, bright saucers for eyes and a thin olfactory organ between them.

Identifying Characteristics

Meere's Earth Caste-manufactured bionics stand out in a crowd on Human worlds. Dressed in the swaggering leathers of his Air Caste fighter-ace heroes, his penchant for extravagant wardrobe draws ire from more "traditional" members of his race.

Physical quirks

Meere wants to be a hero, and often over-exaggerates in the effort to seem more imposing. When in the presence of danger or among his peers, he can be found rather obviously puffing out his chest and standing up unnaturally straight in an attempt to strike a heroic figure.

Special abilities

Meere's bionic augmentations allow him to interface directly with the flight computers of many spacecraft, especially those of T'au-influenced design. This allows him to navigate especially dangerous sections of space with relative ease compared to unaugmented pilots.

Apparel & Accessories

Meere grew up on media depicting heroic Air Caste fighter-bomber squadrons, often exaggerated with heroic interjections and fabulously sleek outfits. He emulates the heroes of his youth as well as his familial ancestors by donning a combination of dashing ace leathers and heirloom armor plating. Combined with his bionic augmentations, this aesthetic can often come across as gaudy or cocksure. This is not intentional, however Meere often lacks the social graces to understand why he winds up on the recieving end of so many scrutinizing looks.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Meere's personal history lacks nearly anything of note. He is well aware of this fact, and has dedicated the remainder of his life to adventure and discovery. He dreams of being lauded as a hero, and the only way to realize that goal is to strike out in search of excitement and opportunity.

Gender Identity

To the T'au, gender identity is insignificant compared to the social identity of the Greater Good. Biological male.

Sexuality

While he has not put a great deal of thought into it, Meere has entertained the idea of siring children, especially if he is able to bring glory to the M'Nekko family name.

Education

Meere graduated with higher than average marks from the Air Caste Navy Academy. While not lackluster, he was awarded no prestigious honors to write home about.

Employment

Meere currently pilots LeGauche's voidship, and acts as a de facto first mate within the crew.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Meere is green in nearly all respects, and hopes that his service in LeGauche's crew will afford him the opportunity to earn glory and honor.

Failures & Embarrassments

Meere treats failure as an opportunity to learn from mistakes. While he once dreamed of piloting a capital warship, his lack of strong familial ties within the Navy means he will likely never get the chance. He is well aware of his position within the hierarchy, which causes him some discomfort when brought up.

Mental Trauma

Meere lived a life of relative comfort in the T'au Navy Academy prior to his service with LeGausche's crew. This has instilled a strong sense of naivety and innocence, which is quite the liability in the 42nd millenium.

Intellectual Characteristics

Meere is a gifted pilot with a solid foundational understanding of spacecraft maneuvering, weaponry, and life support systems. While maintenance is typically left to the Earth Caste's engineers, he knows his way around a grav-inhibitor and has no trouble interfacing with cogitators and AI using his bionics. Having grown up on a voidship, he lacks a certain degree of understanding regarding biology, ecosystems, and survival, but tends to be a quick study in unfamiliar fields. He is practically incapable of close-quarters combat, but he trains with his father's bonding knife every chance he gets.

Morality & Philosophy

Meere believes wholeheartedly in the importance of the Greater Good, and tries his best to reconcile his dreams of grandeur with the philosophy. He struggles somewhat with choosing between serving his own self interests and those of his people, though luckily enough there has been a lot of overlap between the two.

Taboos

Despite the dogma demanding absolute personal sacrifice in the name of the Greater Good, Meere dreams of being recognized as a hero. Secretly, he admires Farsight's rugged individualism despite being recognized as an enemy of the Empire.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

While he is outwardly dedicated to the selflessness of the Greater Good, he dreams of bringing glory and honor to his family name. It is precisely this reason that he agreed to serve on Gue'Vesa LeGausche's expeditionary team. He could certainly experience a life of greater luxury by piloting an Air Caste merchant craft or by serving on the crew of a T'au warship, but he could not pass up the opportunity for adventure.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

A skilled pilot and aerial combatant, no battlefield is more dangerous to maneuver than social environments.

A calm boat in tempestuous waters, Meere is quizzical and calculating. The Air Caste pilot asserts that the T'au can learn a great deal from Mankind, especially by learning from their mistakes.
