Third Moon Dagger

The Third Moon Dagger is one in a series of enchanted items made by Chief Archivist Ronald Everstream in his early years at the College of Touden. Everstream, in early attempts at enchantment, made a series of knives, daggers, and cutlery, most of which either broke entirely or were so utterly unstable as to be unusable. However, a few of them, including the Third Moon Dagger, still exist today.   The Third Moon Dagger is a long crescent dagger, and the only one of the 6 crescent daggers Everstream enchanted to survive and continue to function. Imbued with magic of the abyss, the dagger is capable of producing a murky darkness that repels light, as well as inflicting a noxious poison upon those attacked with the blade.   The blade draws its energies from the setting sun, and must be recharged at dusk. Additionally, it can only be attuned by someone who shares similar fey blood as Everstream.

1d4 slashing damage; +1 to damage and attack rolls
  • Noxious Toxin: use an action to cause a thick, black poison to coat the dagger for 1 minute or until the weapon succeeds an attack; a creature struck by this toxin risks taking additional damage and becoming poisoned
  • Abyssal Darkness: the wielder of this dagger can bring forth an orb of perfect murky darkness, impenetrable to any sight and most kinds of light, nonmagical or otherwise

Weapon Light, Thrown Legendary (this item requires attunement)

This weapon is well-honed: add +1 to both the attack and damage rolls when this weapon is used to attack.   You can use an action to cause thick, black poison to coat the blade. The poison remains for 1 minute or until an Attack using this weapon hits a creature. That creature must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take 2d10 poison damage and become Poisoned for 1 minute. The Dagger can't be used this way again until the next dusk.   As an action, use this item to cast the Darkness spell for 1 minute without requiring concentration. The Dagger can't be used this way again until the next dusk.   This weapon can only be attuned by someone with elven blood.
