Nobody knows where the painting is from, nor the creator. They just know it was found floating in a lake. And should be left there in the first place.

Description

The Sorrow Lady it's a 16x20 painting with frame made of oak wood, decorated by pattern of flowers and ivy. The canvas material isn't determined yet, however some former owners said it's not paper or leather but something more floppy and cold. At random times of the day, the painting will emit a scent of forest after rain, mixing with the smell of rotting flesh and fresh blood(?) Like its name, this is a portrait of a frowning, sad pale woman. She has a black left eye with no iris reflecting some sort of shadowy figure, while the second one is glancing to the right. The background is a plain bistre color.

A haunting history

The art was found floating on Hilda lake, near the border of Hurlein forest by a woodman. Upon discovery, the painting is somehow still dry and intact. Because of its perfect proportion and beautifully painted, he sold the Sorrow Lady to the art museum for some money. But not for long, he and his wife all changed their mind and kept it, they said the painting invoked a strange alluring feeling of nostalgia the moment they decided to sold it. The painting was held on the wall for 2 months until the couple tossed it away, they depicted a feeling of being watched while in the vicinity of the painting, not only that, a sense of threat grew in their mind whenever the couple looked into the forest. Knocking, whispering, heavy breathing, rustling sounds and bone cracking can be heard at night too. Before lost to time, the Sorrow Lady was possessed by many owners and they all encountered the same paranormal activities. One of them was even found dead in a forest. Some others said in the dark, they saw the painting alter into something more sinister...
