The Ghastly Ruins of Beldam

A dark world, full of nightmares and terror, tucked far to the north and across the sea. Terrors both ancient and ghostly inhabit the ruined and oppressed cities and towns, now devoid of their magnificence and influence. Crops struggle to sprout in the poisoned and craggy earth. Curses and bloody wars lost to disaster have collapsed the once fruitful and legendary trade routes and the great industries lie in waste, skeletons of a once more prosperous age.   Surrounded by a stormy and turbulent sea, the tiny continent of Beldam, is coated with deep forests, nearly impassable swamps, and dotted with menacing, fog covered mountains. The population is ruled over by warlords that have staked claim over the lands and wage war amongst themselves with regularity. Fearsome battles and unnatural experiments by wizards, sorcerers, and necromancers have cursed the lands and torn open passages to realms of unspeakable horrors. The land is considered lost and forbidden among the kingdoms and empires of the world.
